One Style – Three Ways: Beachy Waves

The name itself sounds summery, doesn’t it? Beach waves are a great style to wear this season. They’re quite hassle free and require very little maintenance, which just so important in this heat! Celebrities absolutely LOVE this style; we’ve seen so many avatars of it both on the red carpet and off it.

To create this look:

1. Apply a volumizing spray to wet hair and distribute evenly to create volume, texture, and lift. Use a dime size leave in treatment for shine and control.

2. Blow dry on medium heat and medium airflow. Use your hands instead of a brush to create texture.

3. Scrunch and twist small strands around your fingers for that just-off-the beach look.

4. Finish with a mist of hairspray for a lightweight, touchable hold.

But the best thing about this style is its versatility. It can take you from morning to night and look appropriate and stylish all throughout. We’re giving you three ways to wear this style but you’re welcome to change them up and make the look your own.

For a lazy Sunday brunch, keep your waves as dishevelled as possible (like you just got out of bed) without looking like a hobo. A floral (or polka dotted) romper to lounge around in, coral lips and oversized sunnies will set the mood.

We’re thinking something boho chic – a billowing maxi dress or skirt in colours that reflect the setting sun and a statement beaded necklace. Channel some yesteryear spirit with a floral headband on your messy tresses.

Add a dose of sophistication by straightening your bangs to contrast the waves and maybe create a little volume on top. Keep the rest of your look sleek and fierce – a pencil skirt, sheer blouse and femme fatale shoes!
