WIFW Autumn/Winter 2013: Day 2

Day two at WIFW Autmn/Winter 2013 showcased some of the popular names in the fashion industry. Tarun Tahiliani, Shantanu & Nikhil,  Hemant & Nandita, Anju Modi…the name-dropping could go on for a while, so we’d better get to the point.

For those of you who didn’t read our last post, day 1 at WIFW Autumn/Winter 2013 turned out to be a parade of the more popular hairstyles on the ramp. Slicked back hair, middle partings and bouffants were on the menu, with designers who seemed to prefer making a statement with their clothes.

Day two was no different, with most designers using sleek hairstyles that drew our attention away from the face and right to the clothes. Bodice by Ruchika Sachdev had the models walking the ramp with their hair pulled away from the face, but not without some texture. On the other hand, Hemant & Nandita found the models wearing their hair in sleek ponytails with deep side partings, a hairstyle that complemented their silhouettes well. Tarun Tahiliani also chose to let the designs do the talking with sleek pulled back hair either with a middle or side parting. We think this is quickly becoming a hairstyle everyone can easily emulate this season.

As for hair accessories, Anju Modi had us wowed with her military detailing. Nehru and military caps found their way amongst saris and jackets on the runway, with perfect detailing that brought her creativity across well. Shantanu & Nikhil put their models in head wraps paired with high buns, adding a touch of bohemia to their catwalk – much like Anupama Dayal did on day 1.

We loved the slightly refined look that day 2 brought in with it, what do you think? Stay tuned for day 3 updates!
