3 Amazing Benefits of Castor Oil For Hair & Skin

In our endeavour of finding natural ways to maintain lush, beautiful locks and glowing skin we have come across the extensive use of castor oil, a staple in Ayurvedic medicine.

Castor oil has trumped most every other oil I have tried for skin, hair and even nail beauty. My eyebrows and lashes as well!

Our 3 Castor Oil uses for Beauty;

1. Facial Cleanser: Wipe off along with any makeup and slather on a mix of castor and olive oil at night. We suggest applying once a day, and continuing the process over a period of time. It is a great medication to scars and sunburns. A high level of vitamin E accelerates the results. Depending on the skin the results but you will find for yourself a huge difference. If you haven’t tried oil cleansing, we strongly recommend it. Don't miss your eyelashes! It helps to get thicker and fuller eyelashes.

2. Lips! Apply a tiny bit of castor oil on your lips as a part of your daily routine twice a day. You will observe a drop soaks in quite quickly and you can feel the difference in plumpness and smoothness after the application right away.

3. Grow Your Hair: Castor oil is used as a hair-growing agent for a reason. The coconut oil/castor oil mix is a popular choice, heavy on the coconut and light on the sticky castor oil. At night, part your hair and massage in a small amount of the mix on your scalp, part in a new place and repeat. Repeat until you’ve nourished the whole scalp. Let it penetrate your scalp, do it at least an hour before bed and don’t overdo it or you’ll wake up with oil all over the place. Ricinoleic acid, helps in increased circulation to the scalp and improve hair growth; Wash it out in the morning.

Castor oil also contains antibacterial and anti-fungal compounds, which help treat acne and toenail fungus, and prevent dandruff; and omega 6 and omega 9 fatty acids, which may help reduce skin sensitivity and ease inflammation.
